'...And the Seasons They Go Round and Round...'

'...And the Seasons They Go Round and Round...'

Presented by Surface Gallery at Surface Gallery

About the Show:

As I enter my 66th Spring, the rhythm of the seasons are deeply embedded in my time line. The dark short days of winter, give way to the rebirth of Spring, leading to the long lingering days of Summer, releasing to the glory of Fall, then back to the dark silent cold of Winter. 66 seasons of going inward. 66 seasons of rebirth. 66 seasons of growth, and 66 seasons of letting go.

It is easy to take natures rhythms for granted, to ignore that we also have the seasons within us, and that they are always changing. Easy to forget that when we are deep in our own wintering, the light and rebirth of spring is waiting to awaken and shine, then to dim again and shine again.

Our timeline is not a straight line. It is a spiral. We come back to each season seeing through different eyes, equipped with different experiences and wisdom, seen through different eyes. With each passing experience the seasons are greeted with a renewed sense of wonder, gratitude, love and awareness. The flow of the seasons bring out the balancing qualities of the different times of year. The dark comes into light, the cold comes into warm, the grays become enlivened with color, always changing and flowing out from each other,  harmonizing this circle of life.  -Deb Komitor
