Interested in giving back to our trails? Celebrate and give back on National Trails Day with RMFI at Stratton Open Space! This City of Colorado Springs Parks property is popular with hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. The project will take place on Stratton Springs Path which is a Hiker Only trail within the park. This project will have tasks that include decompacting hardened soils and moving materials such as rock to install rock steps with the guidance of RMFI staff. This is strenuous work using tools in the outdoors. Be prepared for a rewarding day of trail work!

Wear long pants and sturdy shoes (This is required. NO open-toed shoes or shorts!)
Work gloves - a pair to borrow will be provided if you do not have your own
Eye protection (work eyewear, sunglasses or RX glasses)
Water bottle(s) or hydration system with plenty of water (2+ liters)
Sack lunch and snacks
Weather-appropriate clothing (e.g. rain jacket)
Sunscreen
Backpack to carry all of your things
We will provide all the needed tools.
