Fun Time With Watercolor Batik with Carol Naylor

This ancient and currently popular process started in the Far East. It has been done on cloth as well as paper although they each use different mediums. Watercolor paint and hot wax are applied in layers to a variety of translucent papers. The effect is a final product that glows with the intensity of a back-lit image. In this class, you will paint an image of your choice. Please bring an image or photo that can be traced onto the paper that I will provide. The image should be 14 X 16 and fairly simple. This is not an exact science but a loose and free application of paint and wax and details can be lost. This is the perfect first step for beginners and a new way of looking at your work if you are a seasoned veteran. This class is great for first timers who have never picked up a brush. Come join me for a fun afternoon. Materials on the web site.
