The Colorado College Summer Music Festival celebrates its 40th anniversary season with a fall intermezzo concert featuring The Escher String Quartet.
The New York based Escher String Quartet will perform an evening of classical music in honor of the 40th anniversary year of the Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
The quartet features Adam Barnett-Hart and Brendan Speltz on violin, Pierre Lapointe on viola, and Brook Speltz, cello.
The Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for its profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty.
A former BBC New Generation Artist and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the quartet has performed at the BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall and is a regular guest at Wigmore Hall.
In Packard Hall the group will perform Mendelssohn's Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 12; Janacek's Quartet No. 2 "Intimate Letters"; and Schubert's Quartet in D minor "Death and the Maiden".
The group takes its name from the Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher, inspired by Escher’s method of interplay between individual components working together to form a whole.
