Celebrating Identity Through Music with the Bardin-Niskala Duo

Presented by University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) at Ent Center for the Arts

The Bardin-Niskala Duo (An-Lin Bardin, cello, and Naomi Niskala, piano) promotes cultural and social awareness using music to explore the universal yet personal and deeply complex journeys of finding identity, creating a sense of belonging, and building community.

This concert features new and recently commissioned  music of ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) and under-represented composers, including Yiheng Yvonne Wu (UCCS faculty), Ofer Ben-Amots (Colorado College faculty), Juantio Becenti, Michael-Thomas Foumai, Reena Esmail, Melissa Dunphy, and Seare Farhat.

The Duo will be joined by violinist Martha Muehleisen for Gabriel Lena Frank's Folk Songs for Piano Trio.
