Historic Van Briggle Pottery Festival and Tour

Presented by Woman's Educational Society at Van Briggle Memorial Pottery Building

Historic Van Briggle Pottery Festival and Tour: Saturday, September 10, 2016; 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Colorado College’s Woman’s Educational Society (WES) is sponsoring its one-day-only tour of the historic Van Briggle Memorial Pottery Building on the CC campus.

Rare, unique opportunity to see the incredible Dutch architecture and artistic detail of this CC landmark – inside and out - now on the National Register of Historic Places. Learn of the tragically short life of Artus Van Briggle, Colorado Springs’ most noted artist of the Art Nouveau period. Historians, potters actually throwing pots on a wheel, and pottery collection experts (who will date-validate your own personal pottery pieces) will be presenting at each tour stop of this building that Artus’s wife, Anne (with help from General Palmer in 1907), built in his honor.
