Piano Concerto Competition

Presented by Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association at Packard Hall, Colorado College

Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association has created a new Piano Concerto Competition and will hold auditions November 17 at Packard Hall at Colorado College.

The winner will perform with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony under the direction of Gary Nicolson during their Winter Concert 2019.

All area non-collegiate students are eligible to apply. The entry deadline to apply is October 17, 2018.

Required literature: One movement of a piano concerto, 10 minutes maximum audition time. Live piano accompaniment required. Repertoire must be pre-approved by the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Music Director, Gary Nicholson.

The winner will perform with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony and may be eligible for a $500 summer camp scholarship to either Lamont School of Music, Denver, Colorado  or the International Summer Academy of Music in Ochsenhausen, Germany.

Admission Info

Entry Fee: $50 for students of Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association or Southern Colorado Music Teachers Association teachers or $75 for students of non-MTA teachers.
