Artwork and performance by Diego Arnedo.
Diego Arnedo is a professional artist born in Buenos Aires. He has traveled all over Central and South America performing and exhibiting his art. His travel experience has had an immeasurable influence on how he portrays the natural world in his work.
Arnedo’s paintings change color depending on what type of lighting they are viewed under. This allows viewers to experience two perspectives of the same art piece. Throughout the evening, the art will be displayed alternately in normal gallery lighting, and UVA (ultraviolet) light. Alternating the lighting lends fantastic and unexpected colors generally unseen in a gallery environment.
Throughout his live performance Arnedo uses different techniques and elements to impact his audience and evoke changes in the atmosphere of the room. He incorporates conceptual lighting, visuals, and illusions into each performance.
Cottonwood Center for the Arts also is a participating stop on the First Friday Shuttle Bus route. Local artists and performers are along for the ride in each bus to entertain you, guide you, and share stories and interesting facts about our community. The free shuttle bus service is intended to serve local residents as well as visitors to the Pikes Peak region. Maps, stop locations, and schedules for both shuttle bus routes are available at PeakRadar.com/FirstFriday.
