PeakRadar.com is the leading online cultural calendar for Colorado’s Pikes Peak region and is the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region’s signature audience development program.
Serving the greater Colorado Springs metropolitan area, including El Paso and Teller counties, the site is a comprehensive arts and culture community events calendar, and is a vital tool for increasing cultural participation.
Since its launch in June 2007, PeakRadar.com has brought awareness of a vast array of arts activities to residents and visitors and it continues to grow. In 2018, the site welcomed over 220,000 users, and the site plus its accompanying widgets had more than 1.6 million page views. Today, PeakRadar.com is home to over 4,000 event listings every year, as well as over 400 cultural organization listings, and more than 350 artist profiles.
Peak Radar’s audience development program also includes a weekly Peak Radar Picks e-blasts, which highlights eight to ten upcoming community events each week on Wednesday. Please click here if you’d like to start receiving the Peak Radar Picks email every week.
Location: All events must take place in Southern Colorado’s El Paso or Teller counties.
Lead Time: We request that events be submitted as early as possible prior to the event’s start date. NEW FOR 2019: If we receive your event listing less than two weeks in advance, we cannot guarantee that your event will be posted.
Event Types: Only public events may be listed. We do not accept events that are solely retail in purpose, whose purpose is solicitation, or are solely religious or political in nature. Events posted to Peak Radar should also be leisure time or recreational activities, and have a specific cultural component to them. Events cannot solely be fundraisers. Event eligibility is also evaluated on a case-by-case basis. At this time, we are only able to accept event listings in English.
Events Images: In order for your event to be considered for a featured position, we must have an professional-quality promotional image to display with your listing. Images must be in .JPG or .PNG format ONLY and no larger than 1.5 megabytes with a required minimum of 400 x 400 pixels to display. Depending on the size of your image and connection speed to the Internet, the upload process may take up to several minutes – please be patient. Once received, your image will be formatted for display. By submitting images to PeakRadar.com, you give Peak Radar permission to use those photos in promotional materials.
Please check PeakRadar.com for duplicate/existing event listings. Coordinate with other involved organizations to only submit one listing.
Market your event – watch out for acronyms the audience may not know and show you are the event expert with impressive descriptions and images to sell your event.
DO NOT just copy and paste a press release into the description box. Please take the time to fill out each section with the appropriate information; it saves time editing and makes for a much cleaner listing.
Please review your event both before and after it is posted. Also, allow 2-3 business days for the Peak Radar team to make any needed edits and get the listing live on the site.
*PeakRadar.com reserves the right to edit graphic images and submissions for grammar, style, and accuracy, as well as remove any listings that we believe are not suitable for the site. While the Cultural Office does not believe in censorship, we do reserve the right to edit all submitted content to ensure accuracy and appropriateness for our Peak Radar audiences.
