CityROCK: Godzilla

This 40’ high color depiction of the monster Godzilla was painted by Corbin Hillam in 2010 for the newly created CityROCK Climbing Center.

It is one of five figures from “old” movies painted on the walls as an homage to building’s previous use as a movie theater. Godzilla is a fictional giant monster first appearing in the Japanese Haiju film Godzilla in 1954. Godzilla was conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons. See additional photos below.
