This 8’ x 16’ mural on metal panels is on the east side of the Cowhand western wear store on Main Street in Woodland Park. It was painted in 2014 by Dixie Clare. Third generation owner/manager of the Cowhand, Marty McKenna is depicted riding on her horse based on an old photo of her. Most of the horses represent a specific quarter horse that Marty and her family raised on their ranch. The artist used several photos from which to create likeness of the horses. The mural depicts Pikes Peak in the background as viewed from the Cowhand store. The city of Woodland Park funded this mural as part of an arts beautification program.
