Grizz II

Grizz II is constructed of steel and has been a guest at the intersection of Cascade and Pikes Peak Avenues since 2000. Much friendlier than his live counterpart, he is now a permanent resident of downtown, thanks to the 2011 Community Ventures purchase and subsequent donation to the city.

Richard Jagoda, a Colorado Springs native who works in both stone and steel, developed an interest in sculpture while living in Japan after World War II. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University and has taught design and drawing at CSU as well as at Durango High School and North Middle School in Colorado Springs.
