History of Transportation in the Pikes Peak Region

This mural 75′ long mural was created by Steve Wood in 2002 and is a second version of the same topic and it’s second location. The original mural was painted in 1991 on the west cement wall of the city transit center, 127 E. Kiowa. as an “anti-grafitti” measure. At one point the city painted over the mural but by popular demand from the citizens a new movable mural was commissioned by the city. The board mural was moved from transit center in 2015, given to El Paso County and reinstalled in front of Centennial Hall where it now stands.
