I have been dreaming to be a tree

“I have been dreaming to be a tree” was created by Byeong Doo Moon.

The “deer” motif has been central to the work of Korean artist Byeong Doo Moon for the past ten years, winning various awards in Korea and in Australia’s celebrated Sculpture by the Sea program.

“In Korea, the deer is a divine creature that connects the earth to the universe,” Moon explains. “To me, it is a symbol of the frail nature of man, yet with the immense potential of understanding the universe. With this piece, I hope to create and encourage discourse on the nature of man. Art on the Streets’ outdoor sculpture gallery is a powerful and accessible way of allowing such dialogue.”
