This mural was painted in 1996 on the downstairs wall at the bottom on the north stairway of Ivywild School by Marilyn Lane-Eggleston. The Voyage of Mimi was the title of the 5th grade science curriculum then being used and Mimi is the name of the boat seen sailing in the upper right of the mural. A contest was held for the students to submit design ideas. As part of the 5th grade curriculum. The Voyage of Mimi is a tribute to international diversity.
