Spring Bouquet

A bronze bouquet of roses perches at the northeast corner of Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue. It was given to the City of Colorado Springs by Community Ventures as a memorial to Norm Palermo in recognition of all he did to enhance the Pikes Peak region. Palermo, an attorney who died July 15, 2003, left his mark on many organizations around Colorado Springs including the Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the El Paso County Republican Party, and county government.

The piece is by the late Gene Adcock, a prominent sculptor, interior designer, and philanthropist, who lived in Carbondale, Colorado, and Pietrasanta, Italy, where he created sculpture together with his wife Jeanie Renchard. “Renchard 1/20” is inscribed on Spring Bouquet, indicating her partnership in creating this piece.
