About the DJs:

wngdu

Padideh aka wngdu is an Iranian-American dj, journalist and visual artist born and raised in Denver, CO. Dance has a significant presence in wngdu’s life as music and dancing is a prominent part of socializing in Persian culture. wngdu has a wide range of sound on the decks and loves to keep the dancefloor on their toes. Outside of their musical and artistic projects, they run an event series called Human Cluster Project focusing on uplifting BIPOC and queer creatives with a focus on Middle-Eastern acts.

Mitch Smith

Mitch Smith originally comes from Florida, where he grew an insatiable curiosity for the music around him. He participated in his local scenes in every capacity he could, until he found himself serving as the music director for the University of Miami’s radio station. He later found his way to North Carolina where he worked in record distribution, making sure that your favorite records were on the shelves of your favorite record stores. Now based in Denver,   Mitch brings the many styles and sounds from his experiences that he feels authentically represent him and all that he loves.

Libuše

Libuše is a name that implies vision, potential, and growth, as borrowed from Czech mythology where it names a princess who is said to have foreseen the construction of the city of Prague. For DJ & Producer Gwen Kubik, the alias of Libuše brings these concepts from her family’s Czech heritage and incorporates them into her art and music as an affirmation of what she seeks to represent with her compositions and performances alike. With her roots in Denver’s Drum & Bass scene, Libuše’s DJ sets now glide beyond genre to blend together all of the music that she loves as she imbues the dancefloors she plays with an eclectic energy all her own. As a proud trans woman, Libuše further works with a number of collectives to help ensure there is thriving space for Denver’s queer music scene and drag underground. A DJ set by Libuše is sure to touch on a range of tonalities with a consistent sense of levity, even as she delivers the low-frequency sonic sequences within which she has long made her home.
