The 2021 Pikes Peak Marathon will be part of the Golden Trail Series supported by Salomon. As part of Salomon's Golden Trail National Series, the Marathon is recognized as one of the top mountain trail runs in the world and the only race in North America to be part of the series. Many of the top runners in the world compete in the race from Manitou Springs to the summit of Pikes Peak America's Mountain, and back. Registration for the race opened on January 1st and a limited number of spots may still be open. Future runners should be aware that you must qualify to register for the Pikes Peak Marathon.
The race will begin at Memorial Hall in Manitou Springs starting at 7 a.m. Spectators are invited to cheer and participate in the festivities*, which include a Scheel's Race Expo with music, vendors, a beer garden, award ceremony, and finish line festivities. Activities are free and open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sections of the race will also be broadcast on monitors in Manitou and exclusively in a handful of local restaurants and bars.
The Pikes Peak Run Fest* will be held in Memorial Park, in Manitou Springs on Thursday, August 19th. The public festival is from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature music, a beer garden, merchandise sales, runner expo, and food vendors.
