Chamber Orchestra Ensembles

The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, under the artistic direction of Maestro Thomas Wilson, is the region’s premier chamber ensemble bringing innovative and diverse classical music to the Pikes Peak region. As a long-standing cultural anchor in Colorado, the Chamber Orchestra is dedicated to creating and sharing exceptional musical experiences for our community.

The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs consists of professional, local musicians who can provide music to meet your special event needs and goals, from simple to sophisticated. We will design a well-crafted, event-specific program that is the right shape and size to fit your space, budget, and musical tastes.Chamber Orchestra musicians are available for hire in various configurations. These ensembles do not require a conductor:

  • Solo Serenade – individual musician (example: solo violin, solo flute)
  • String or Wind Duo or Trio – 2 to 3 musicians (example: violin, viola, cello or flute, clarinet, bassoon)
  • String Quartet – 4 musicians
  • Brass or Wind Quintet – 5 musicians

We love to go beyond the music! From fun and interesting musical tidbits about the music, to historical notes about the composer to other interesting perspectives to connect your audience with the ensemble and performance, we can tailor an experience that is more than, well, performed music!

As a Curbside Culture host site, you will be responsible for (1) providing electricity by running an extension cord to the performance location, and (2) gathering a small audience to enjoy the performance. Pricing and performance options are listed below, and all financial transactions should be conducted directly with the performer, in a mutually convenient manner.

Rates for Chamber Orchestra Ensembles depend on many factors including: the number of musicians, the length of time, and location:

  • For 1-5 musicians (solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet): minimum rate is $125 per musician for up to one hour, single location, within El Paso County ($75 for each additional hour, maximum 2 1/2 hours with a 10 minute break for each hour)
  • Covered location required from the elements (tree cover is not considered covered). If location is not covered, a tent rental fee of $100 per event is required. Additional fees for travel beyond El Paso County and on holidays. Social distancing guidelines will be practiced per current state mandate.

Launched in 2020 by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, Curbside Culture brings the performing arts out into the community by facilitating small-scale live performances outside of private residences, businesses, cultural venues, assisted living facilities, and local gathering spots.
