A-Z Colorado's Nearly Forgotten History

Colorado’s history didn’t begin in 1876 when it was admitted to the Union. It began long before that. People and events helped shape this diverse state which we call home. There are many tales to be told of the 100 years before statehood. Tales of people, places and events that are in danger of being forgotten.

John Anderson, a Woodland Park resident, is a published author who has written a book so that some of these tales will be remembered. After retiring from a 30 year law enforcement career, John Anderson traveled the world. But he remains most interested by the rich history found in the American Southwest.

The Cripple Creek District Museum invites you to learn more about Colorado’s Forgotten History on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. The talk will be held at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center. This program is presented by the Cripple Creek District Museum and the City of Cripple Creek. Reservations are recommended.
