Arashi Indigo

The instructor for this class is Ruth Chandler.

Arashi  (or “storm”) shibori is what we have come to call pole dyeing. In this class you will delve into many arashi techniques and also learn a few Bomaki (folded and wrapped on poles) shibori patterns.

Bring all those beautiful natural fabrics that you have been hoarding and join us in a day of shibori exploration that will leave you addicted to indigo arashi!

Student supply list:

• Natural fabrics to dye
• Apron
• Readers if you need them
• Wear clothes and shoes that you do not mind messing up with indigo.
• Lunch and chocolate

Class Level: Concentration – The student will be invited to learn more about a certain subject and be expected to have had some experience with it or have taken a prior class. These classes will probably involve several sessions.
