Carnelian Coffee Book Club

Feel free to join us for the in-person version of the Carnelian Coffee Book Group, facilitated by the Pikes Peak Library District. Multiple copies are available through PPLD and as part of a book club set handed out at March and April’s in-person meetings. May’s selection is the Please Look After Mom by Kyung-Sook Shin, the first woman and South Korean to win the Man Asian Literary Prize.

Summary: When sixty-nine-year-old So-nyo is separated from her husband among the crowds of the Seoul subway station, her family begins a desperate search to find her. Yet as long-held secrets and private sorrows begin to reveal themselves, they are forced to wonder: how well did they actually know the woman they called Mom?
