Carnivale Kickoff with the John Wise Tribe Duo

Celebrate the spirit of Mardi-Gras with The John Wise Tribe Duo featuring Jazz, Blues, Calypso and Island music.

John Wise (vocals, bass guitar, and rhythm guitar) hails from Kansas, where at age 15 he had the good fortune of being a member of Local 627 (the Black Musician’s Union).  Since moving to Colorado Springs in 1990, John has led several popular bands including “Gordon, Stone and Wise”, “Blues Alert”, Johnny and the Jukes”, and his current successful group “Tribe”.  John has worked in most of the top venues and with most of the best musicians in the Pikes Peak region.

The Tribe Duo also features keyboardist Tony Szajowski.  Tony has appeared at events such The Taste of Chicago, and has shared the bill with artists such as Willie Nelson, Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Dumpstaphunk, and Dark Star Orchestra.  Moving to Colorado Springs in 2018, Tony plays with many top artists and groups in Denver and Colorado Springs including Diamond Empire Band, Great Family Reunion, Brad Eastin, Tribe, Susan Rissman, Steve Langemo, Tidal Breeze, Charlie Milo, Todd Williams, and more.
