Chasqui String Quartet

Since meeting in 2019, the Chasqui Quartet has become known for their commitment to immersive concert experiences, audience development, and innovative programming. Their 2021 Colorado residency and tour will present music that expanded the boundaries of the string quartet repertoire.

From Franz Joseph Haydn’s establishment of the modern string quartet to Gabriela Lena Frank’s joyous exploration of the sounds of Andean folk music and the improvisatory, jazz-inflected writing of Jessie Montgomery, this concert will highlight the cutting-edge aspects of music new and old. The Chasqui Quartet members live in Bloomington, Indiana; Baltimore, Maryland; and Midland, Texas.
