A special one-night only showing of the 1952 Western movie, ‘Cripple Creek’ will take the stage of the Butte Theater Saturday, April 4.
While the 1952 Western film was not produced in Cripple Creek, it does follow a gold rush theme.
The film is based on a federal agent (Montgomery) and two colleagues who infiltrate a gang of gold-rush gold smugglers. Instead of stealing gold bars, the outlaws are stealing high grade ore, having it smelted, and then having it plated to look like lead.
The Government sends agents Bret (Montgomery) and Larry (Jerome Courtland) who arrive in Cripple Creek posing as Texas gunfighters.
