Downtown Walking Tour

On the first Saturday of each month, you can catch an hour-long guided tour introducing the historic landmarks, contemporary artwork, and cultural highlights of Downtown.

JUNE 1 WALKING TOUR: Past meets future in this behind-the-scenes tour of Downtown’s historic architecture and contemporary murals. Hear the stories of these iconic urban artworks and learn how both contribute to a more walkable, inviting environment for all.

SPECIAL ADDITION TO THIS TOUR! At the end of the hour, gain access to the Historic Day Nursery building at 104 E. Rio Grande for a tour of its iconic WPA-era murals by Allen Tupper True. Commissioned by Alice Bemis Taylor, the oil on canvas murals depict Mother Goose nursery rhymes and surround the auditorium walls of the building.

Participants are encouraged to arrive at 9:30 a.m. to enjoy a free coffee beverage of their choice (included in ticket price). Tours begins promptly at 10 a.m.
