Family Fun & Free Scout Day

Scouts and leaders in uniform receive free admission to the DRC. Various activity tables and demonstrations will be set up from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Presenters include:

• Natures Educators-Live bird demonstrations at 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.
• Colorado Springs Astronomical Society-Learn about space weather and how telescopes work. See live views of the sun through special solar telescopes.,
• Juice Plus- non-gmo, pesticide free, vine ripened fruits and vegetables. Free for kids with an adult sponsor.
• Leave No Trace-Scouts spend a lot of time outdoors and have a fantastic opportunity to become role models for other park and trail users. Test your knowledge of “LEAVE NO TRACE” and discover ways to make an impact in the environment by not leaving any trace!,
• TOPS (with Leave No Trace)-Stream ecology activity
• Cheyenne Mountain Zoo- Will have a variety of live animals for you to meet and greet.
• John Patterson-Artist: Original artwork for sale, live demonstrations and free art lessons for kids.
• Joint Initiatives/Alliance for Kids-Activity table.
• Sierra Case-Artist: Free owl prints with facts about each species. Colorado art prints will also be for sale.
• Ute Pass Library-Activity table
• Join Ranger Kelli at the DRC for an exciting exhibit featuring some of your favorite local wildlife species! Enhance your wildlife identification skills and learn more about the mission of Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
