First Amendment Show and 'Clouds, Curiosity and Courage'

First Friday at the MAC features two new shows in the First Amendment and Hagnauer galleries and live music by The Mitguards!

Kelly Green on the show, ‘Clouds, Curiosity and Courage’:

“I am driven to create almost as surely as I need to breathe. I have always been intrigued with the mind, the subconscious and symbols. I indulge in reading books about Philosophy, Universal Theories, Physics, History, Mythology, Theology, & Conspiracies. I began customizing vinyl toys almost two decades ago. This medium has allowed me to connect to my life-long love of toys in new ways as the creator instead of collector. I’ve found that they provide an avenue of expression for some deeper thoughts and social commentary that I avoided previously. That in turn caused a revolutionary shift in all other areas of my art.

Flying creatures, the sky and skydiving turn up again and again in my artwork as a result of going from growing up in The Big Sky state and many hours of cloud watching as a child to being a full time skydiver submerged in the sport and lifestyle for nearly two decades. I retired from jumping out of airplanes in 2009 and became a full time artist; then, just a short time later, I also became a full time mom. In 2017, I became an accidental Climate Engineering Awareness Activist, @bringbackblueskies.”
