Jazz in the Garden: Mango fan Django
Playing Gypsy Jazz in Colorado since 1998, this band is known for a unique style of acoustic guitar swing that has delighted audiences of all ages. Inspired by a Gypsy jazz style invented in the 1930’s by guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, Mango fan Django’s sound also sends a wink and a nod to jump swing hepcats of the 40’s, the sassy Caribbean and Latin bands of the 50’s, 60’s and beyond, and contemporary musicians from today’s Gypsy jazz scene.
Jazz in the Garden celebrates the centennial of Grace and St. Stephen's Church in 2023 with some all-time favorites and some soon-to-be favorites beginning on Friday, May 26. Join us on selected Friday evenings at 7 pm in the garden at the corner of N. Tejon and Monument Sts., just blocks north of downtown. Bring something to sit on, something to eat and your dancin' shoes. We'll provide beverages (for donation) and music that will get your toes tapping and fingers snapping.
