Jesse Stockwell: 'Exploration Of The Mind'

My art is subjective to the viewer what it means to me is not what it is going to mean to you and that is exactly how I want it to be. I don’t know why I create art, but I do know that I have an overwhelming urge to create, and I haven’t figured out yet why. Every time I pick up my pallet knives; I am trying to answer the question of why.

This wasn’t who I was supposed to be, I had a plan of where I was going and what I was going to do with my life, and this wasn’t it. A life that still to this day drives me forward one that I love almost as much as I love creating art, but somewhere along the way I hit a fork in the road and nothing has been the same since. Art gave me a purpose, and my art is an abstract idea that ignites growth in myself. There are a lot of external factors that insist that making a living with art needs to happen quickly to be successful and it stole the joys of creating art from me. Now I know I will be successful in my endeavor because I hold a deep seeded purpose, one that is much larger than myself.
