Lecture Series: More than "Molly" - A Discussion of the Life of Margaret Brown

Margaret “Molly” Brown and her husband moved to Denver, Colorado, after achieving great prosperity through the discovery of gold at one of his mines in 1893.

Most noted for her heroism in the aftermath of the Titanic disaster, she was also an American human-rights activist, philanthropist and actress who helped miners, women and immigrants building a life in the West during the silver mining boom.

Under Andrea Malcomb’s leadership at the Molly Brown House Museum, Malcomb has elevated its public history impact through programs and interpretation that explore a new, woman-centered dynamic between past and present.
