Lunch Beat

GOCA produced the first Lunch Beat in Colorado in 2012 as a way to bring the community together through dance in our downtown Colorado Springs gallery space and the popular program has endured, with live-streaming of the dance party on Instagram during the pandemic.

Lunch Beat first started in Sweden in 2010 and became a global phenomenon with a simple formula – a 60-minute deejay set, water, and a healthy lunch set at “lunchtime”. Included in this event are lunch provided by La Casita Catering, deejay set by Tamara and Kirk Moore of Moore Interactive, and a black-light activated string installation by artist Samantha Howell.
