The Garden of the Gods is the most popular attraction in Colorado Springs. Believe it or not, it was seeing people enjoy the land around those iconic red rocks that motivated landowner Charles Elliott Perkins to spend over two decades of his life searching for a way to guarantee the property would remain forever free to the public. But who was Perkins and what was it in his character that drove him to preserve the Garden for all time? Come find out.

Bowen Gillings is a park interpreter at Garden of the Gods park with over ten years of experience sharing the park’s story with visitors young and old from around the world. Bring your questions and ideas for this insightful conversation over lunch in the Museum’s Henderson Gallery. Seating is limited. Reservations are required. You may reserve a free ticket (feel free to bring your own lunch!) or pay for one of four boxed lunch options from Panera*. We are not able to make any substitutions to the boxed lunch options.
