'Molten'

This body of work is based mostly in transformation and resurrection. Two themes that have had a strong presence in my paintings for the past few years. Walking into midlife while losing my father has brought many questions about how to describe and cope with the changes I’m experiencing. Hopefully I can speak to this in my visual language well enough for others to relate and understand. For me the hummingbird represents my heart because as a totem it represents joy and snakes are transformative and are ancient symbols sometimes depicted in creation myths.
