Opening Art Reception for Ruth Schubarth and Willow Welter

The Modbo cordially invites you to an art opening at Ivywild School featuring new work by watercolorists Ruth Schubarth and Willow Welter. Walk around, enjoy the artwork, meet the artists, and enjoy refreshments!

Willow Welter began painting suddenly and obsessively in 2020. She loves the fluid nature of watercolor and enjoys painting cats, faces and plants the most. A writer, musician and yoga teacher, she lives in Colorado Springs with her husband and their two black cats.

Ruth Schubarth has played the piano since she was 4 but only started painting when her youngest kids grew to be that same age. Both passions drive her, and she changes hats often between piano work and artwork, working as accompanist, teacher, set painter, and artistic explorer. In these present works, she is enamored by the visual design and contour of open landscapes, while seeking to evoke the feeling of sharing space with the land around. She’s currently remodeling a bedroom-turned-studio space in her home, where a new loom will soon live beside her beloved painting table.
