Planet & Moon Gazing

Join Zack and Zoey Adventures for a free, in-person family event at the Star Light Observatory as we partner with the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival for an evening of stargazing with multiple large telescopes and the Mobile Earth & Space Observatory (MESO) will also be there.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. lasting until 8:30 p.m., we will be aiming several telescopes, ranging in size of kids’ backyard telescope, to mid-size telescopes, up to our large observatory telescope, to view a thin crescent moon, Saturn and it’s largest moon Titan, Jupiter and it’s four Galilean moons and more!

Important: The observatory is on the campus of Trailblazer Elementary School so following these instructions is very important:

Parking: Please park in the school parking lot in front of the building, of if the lot is full, park legally along the streets.

Getting to the Observatory: After parking, walk around to the back of the school to find the observatory dome behind the school near the playgrounds/soccer field.  Be ready to be “Wow”-ed!

This is an outdoor event and it will be getting dark – though the school campus has lights.
