Join the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum for a virtual talk all about how the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo started!

Spencer Penrose elevated rodeo into the major leagues in Colorado Springs in 1937 with the founding of the Will Rogers Rodeo. In 1938 the Will Rogers Stadium was built across from the Broadmoor Hotel for the enjoyment of locals and hotel guests alike. Changing through the years, it became the Colorado Springs Rodeo and then the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, but support of and by the local community has always remained the core principle.
