Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site invites you to come see sheep shearing, wool carding, weaving, dyeing, and sheepdog demonstrations, and to experience the Living History Program the first Saturday in June.
Join us for this highly-anticipated annual event!
In the 1880's, El Paso County boasted the largest population of sheep in the state at 120,000 critters.
This produced about 560,000 pounds of fleece.
Watch as the sheep are sheared with traditional and modern equipment and see a demonstration of expert sheepdog handling.
There will also card, spinning, dyeing, and weaving demonstrations.
Visit the general store to buy gifts made from our very own sheep's wool.
