Symbolism of Mandalas Lecture

In conjunction with the sand mandala being created at the Tibetan Meditation Center, artist Chelsea Beach will talk about the symbolism of mandalas.

These spiritual designs are diagrams of a celestial palace where a Buddhist deity lives and help focus attention during meditation practice. Chelsea studied in Patan, Nepal, for three years under master artist Lok Chitrakar before founding the Himalayan Art School in Colorado Springs, where she teaches Paubha painting, the traditional painting of Nepal.
