Please join us for a series of living sculptures by Colorado-based artists. The series will tandem the kick off of the Downtown Partnership’s Art on the Streets and following these performances, an artwork will be unveiled to further mark the occasion.
The downtown partnership has chosen to temporarily exhibit Nikki Pike’s sculpture that reads “WE the PRIVILEGED.” in reference to Robert Indiana’s widely recognized text-based sculpture LOVE, as well as the Preamble to the United States Constitution.
By changing “we the people” to “we the privileged,” the artist asks the viewer to ponder the power dynamics associated with traditional monuments.
