WInter Trios

The program is anchored by two large trios, a 21st century woodwind trio by Andrey Rubtsov and 20th century string Trio in A by Vasily Barvinskyi and closes with Ave Maria sung by Priscilla Viteri, soprano.

The program: The Marbella Fantasy for Flute, Oboe and Piano by Russian composer, Andre Rubtsov was written in 2012, and uses extended techniques for unusual sounds. A contrasting work, Trio no. 1 in A minor for violin, cello and piano was written in 1910 by Vasily Barvinskyi, an outstanding composer, pianist, musicologist, and conductor, who was born in Ukraine in 1888.
