'Woodcut, What a Relief!'

Woodcut is relief printmaking. Through cutting and manipulating a wood surface, actual textures are achieved and are translated into visual textures in printing the surface of the wood. We will be working in black and white only, developing a value range and conceptualizing a compositional image with a variety of lines achieved through cuts on the wood. Woodcut is a bold presentation of an artist’s vision. Come and explore this creative avenue! Drawing experience beyond a beginner level is needed for this course.
