Woodland Park Wind Symphony Concert

The Woodland Music Series presents “City Above the Clouds” performed by the Woodland Park Wind Symphony. This is the first concert of the Woodland Music Series Summer Concerts.

One piece featured is the composition “City Above the Clouds” by Rod Harkins, Spirit of American Press. Mr. Harkins has encapsulated the history and beauty of the mountain town known as Woodland Park, Colorado, and the Ute Pass area. He researched and visited the many historical places of this area which were transformed and molded by the Native American, Spanish Conquistador and the gold miner.

The Woodland Park Wind Symphony is proud to perform this exciting multi faceted musical selection which weaves the cultural diversity of the area augmented with video prepared by Craig Harms.

The Ute Pass Historical Society & Pikes Peak Museum will display the historic bass drum from the Colorado Midland Band, along with other items displayed and for purchase.

The Ute Trail Stampede Rodeo will be promoting their July 13-14-15 rodeo in Woodland Park.  These groups are an important part of our local history and will provide concert goers an additional insight into our history.
