'Your Slip is Showing'

“Your Slip is Showing” acts as a compass of the coming-of-age story, evoking the complexities of femininity. The artifacts of womanhood dissect an experience of femininity not as a byproduct of ” biological woman-ness” but as a string of poetic moments about survival and strength- for everyone. Softness, tenderness, violence all live here. “Your Slip is Showing” is an altar space of relics from the expectations of our mothers. Cleaning under your acrylic nails with a pocket knife- tucking your rosary into your lingerie-an ode to armor. A review of gender roles and parameters left by colonialism and machismo. Art objects alive and opulent from the bedside table.
