Penrose Heritage Museum

Penrose Heritage Museum located in Colorado Springs CO

Penrose Heritage Museum is dedicated to the life and history of Julie and Spencer Penrose. Socialites and philanthropists of Colorado Springs in the early-mid 1900’s, Julie and Spencer transformed the Pikes Peak region and helped make Colorado Springs what it is today. They gave us the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, The Broadmoor, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and El Pomar Foundation.

Come see how Julie and Spencer lived through their personal artifact collection, carriage collection and the western heritage gallery. Perhaps you prefer race cars? Half of our museum is dedicated to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Experience, showcasing the history of the second oldest motor sport event in America.
