Rock Ledge Ranch History Hike - The Gateway Adventure Series

Learn some interesting local history while enjoying fresh air in your favorite park! Join Elizabeth Barber, Lead Interpreter and historian, for a unique guided hike through Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site and Garden of the Gods Park. This easy 2 mile loop will start and end at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center and will follow gravel trails through Rock Ledge Ranch. Along the way you will hike past historic structures, and learn about the people who lived in the Camp Creek valley. End at the Visitor Center and enjoy the new exhibits. Feel like you are getting a private tour on this not to be missed hike!

Presenting the New – 2016 / 2017 Garden of the Gods Gateway Adventure Series

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center is pleased to present the new Garden of the Gods Gateway Adventure Series. The bi-monthly series will meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month. The series will feature the top naturalists, interpreters, historians and many special guests to present an array of exciting presentations, demonstrations, walks and hikes. The series will inform and educate the community on the many unique aspects of Garden of the Gods Park while encouraging environmental awareness of this National Natural Landmark. The presentations are free but donations are gratefully accepted. Space will fill fast so please make your reservations today by calling 219-0108.

This bi-monthly series will bring the foremost interpretive experts of Garden of the Gods Park together on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month.

Dogs, smoking and strollers not permitted. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dress appropriately for weather conditions, bring water, sunscreen, and wear sturdy shoes. Length of hike is   approximately 2 miles and 2 hours. There will be no access to Rock Ledge Ranch historic buildings as part of this hike. In case of inclement weather please join Elizabeth for a fascinating indoor presentation of Julia Archibald Holmes Backpack.  See what the 1800's mountaineers took on a hike.
