The Space

The Space originally came about as a collaboration between artist, Chelsea Boucher and insurance agent, Rusty Fanning. When Rusty opened his own State Farm Insurance agency in Downtown Colorado Springs he wanted it to be curated as though it was a space in Downtown Colorado Springs. It was important to Rusty to have real art created by real artists, not mass-produced decor from a big box store. Chelsea took the idea and ran with it, working to develop The Space into a true combination office and gallery space. In early 2021 Chelsea joined forces with Felicia Kelly to expand the visibility of The Space and the artists showing within.

With over twenty years of combined experience making, showing, and curating art, Chelsea and Felicia strive to make The Space an accessible entry to the art world. We love working with new artists to help guide them through the process of their first show from start to finish. We also offer space to more experienced artists who are between shows or creating work that might not fit anywhere else. Bring on all of the experimentations, collaborations, and weird ideas! We believe showing should be fun and inspiring and we’re excited to bring The Space to the Colorado Springs community.
